There's any number of quotes I could pull from this and elevate with a loud, hearty “PREACH!!” –including, but not limited to...
“Politics needed to transcend not only left and right but pro and anti. That our new position would be a direct strategy of elevating the bold and the brave to the top while pushing the liars and cowards to the bottom.”
“Those who speak of reality with tongues of scalpels while philosophizing with hammers will reign sovereign as long as they understand fashion, courage, merit, and honor.”
With that said, I'll admit THIS one fires me up the most:
“We could literally just produce this with our friends.”
Very cool. The decline of aristocracy is a fertile ground for new things to arise. As some Nietzscheans claim, it is the precondition for the arrival of philosophy. It is also a birthplace for new aesthetics, clearing out the sclerotic old ones.
Inspiring as always! Lots of great thoughts and principles applicable universally, even not only for politics.
There’s I feel sometimes an obstacle for being bold and brave, that might be “a skill issue”, a chronic one, a trait of a zeitgeist in a way (I’m not unaffected but trying to heal), that should definitely be overcome.
I am writing an essay that touches on this, tho I am just explaining my view on that there that is heavily based on personal experiences. So naive answer- young people should abandon post-modern mentality, cynicism, waiting for things to die (“gov will change”, “empire will fall”, “this and that will end”… - really seems like there’s “death worship” and a thing that can fix everything instead of “life worship”). We wait for some history pendulum to strike to the other side as if things are predetermined- they are on contrary very chaotic and very random. Sometimes you can’t do much but it doesn’t mean giving up and waiting is the way. Small things that would reinforce the lively spirit would still matter, even when it seems absurd.

So happy this resonated with you. Love getting people fired up like this.

Would love to get more into this. How can we fight the repression and set a new standard?
