I like your view on it, mine is much more jaded in that I think there's much social manipulation of trends so they can be controlled to a desired outcome. There's a theory that the intelligence agencies worked together to create Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and we know the major social networks work with the feds often, so I guess it's maybe more of a question of if they were intentionally created for mass monitoring, or if they were rather "chosen" for it. Additionally, blockchain is surprisingly perfect for tracking every aspect of our monetary behavior. At any rate I am contemplating getting a 2400 baud modem and a Zenith and living in the woods.

I already skedaddled to the woods after a time in the San Francisco and Ann Arbor cyber scene. I'd git out while the gittin' is good, unless you want to be a "World Coin" stooge slave.

Or an academic... or a kid with a PC, modem and a BBS who found out how to hack into the local university. Been online ever since.

I was hoping to hear your take on Urbit. It has become much more hospitable in the last year. You don't need to be a Hooner to use it. I invite you to check it out: https://Tlon.io The future isn't scary; it's calm.
