We’re doing this again. I have a new virtual salon to announce that is literally happening tomorrow. That’s right. Welcome to Cultural Futurist Salon VII - Art Imperium, which will take place at 2 PM EST and go on till 6 PM EST. This will be a salon for philosophers, performers, political realists, artists, poets, and writers to come together and engage in spoken verse, speeches, live talks, readings, invocations, and digital parlor games. Will you make history and join us for the new era?
If you’ve attended any of my virtual salons before, I’m looking forward to seeing you again. If you’ve never attended any, know that you have the choice to keep your camera off if you have any privacy concerns. No Cultural Futurist Salons are ever recorded. This is a members-only event, and what happens at my salons stays at my salons. You can join as a paid subscriber if you’d like to attend Art Imperium in addition to gaining entrance to all upcoming Cultural Futurist Salons and book clubs both online and off in the future.
The Zoom link for paid subscribers is under the cut and gets you into the official event.
ENTER THE ART IMPERIUM
Art Imperium is a salon for visionary artists to engage in creative rituals and discussions with radical philosophers and political thinkers. Orators give speeches as they dissect the current shaping of our era. Poets and experimental writers share the inner workings of their minds. This is a virtual gathering for anyone who understands the unique bond between the creative, sacred, and forbidden. No ideas are too extreme and all provocations are welcome. We ask only that you embody the spirit of the divine force that animates you with elegance.
EVENT PROGRAM
2 PM EST - Rachel Haywire: Art Against Equality [10 minute talk + 5 minute Q&A]
There has always been a sacred dimension to art, but did the popularization of egalitarianism obscure it? Rachel Haywire will discuss what happens when all art is considered to be subjective and how flattened aesthetics in service to the unattainable myth of equality have rendered egalitarian art dead. She will discuss how the true nature of art is anti-egalitarian in spirit and demonstrate how art flows against the notion of equality in order to reach the people who will come to adore and understand it the most.
2:15 PM EST - Owen Cox: The Paglian Right [10 minute talk + 5 minute Q&A]
The Left is ugly and boring. The Right, especially the populist Right, is vibrant. The Left is retreating into theory, while the Right is out in the field. Camille Paglia is gay, camp, draggy, libertine and psychedelic. She is also unashamedly pro-Western civilization and speaks in favor of hierarchy and beauty while defending men for the ways they have expressed themselves. Owen Cox has coined this The Paglian Right. He will break down the ways in which this new political class could emerge.
2:30 PM EST - Nina Power - Live Theatre: England Screaming
In a seminal and exclusive performance, Nina Power will - in appropriate attire - succinctly embody the spirit of Wyndham Lewis's 1914 play Enemy of the Stars, and add her own Vorticist commentary from 2025. It’s all VERY WELL ACTED BY YOU AND ME as per Lewis's stage direction. It’s Nina Power live and she’s bringing Vorticism to the Art Imperium Salon in an act of theatrical resolve.
2:45 PM EST - The Iron Legion - Reading: The Legionary Manifesto
What work can men do that advances The Kingdom the most? Well, you’re about to find out. The Iron Legion exists to counter every evil in society and the world. He will use politics and economics as tools to create a society that fosters true repentance, redemption, and sanctification. Guess what? The manifestos will continue until the art world improves.
3 PM EST - Noah Rymer - Poetry Performance: Bacchant
French decadence, suburban alienation, Neo-Classicism, and noir Americana find themselves in a strange, surreal Shoggothean amalgam through Noah Rymer’s debut poetry and prose collection, Bacchant. Rymer paints a dissociative and expressionist picture of an allusive (and elusive) modernity that finds its sympathies with such works as The Waste Land and Howl—if Eliot frequented house parties and Ginsberg went to punk shows.
3:15 PM EST Hardcore Debate
Speakers, participants, and audience members will be given the opportunity to take on hardcore stances in a twisted game of debate, curated specifically for this salon. Who can come up with the best justifications for the most extreme ideas? Whose final argument will get you agreeing with the unspeakable? We’re about to unleash some Hardcore Debate up in here. It’s a digital parlor game designed specifically for our era.
3:30 PM EST - Giovanni Pennacchietti - Kitsch Liberalism and the (non)Future [10 minute talk + 5 minute Q&A]
There’s a spectrum haunting Western politics and it stands at the intersection of the aesthetic and the visual, that being the realities of Kitsch. The global liberal order needs Kitsch and that’s a fact. In this short talk, Giovanni Pennacchietti will aim to explicate the problems with liberal Kitsch in the internet age and the consequences of it, specifically in regards to envisioning a future aesthetic picture of the political.
3:45 PM EST - Mac Vogt - Film Screening: See Through
Mac Vogt is back and this time he’s more cancelled than ever. At Cultural Futurist Salon VII - Art Imperium he will be screening a short film he directed called See Through about moments that escape our grasp. Shot directly in Toronto, the film was made by two friends as three characters.
4 PM EST - BREAK/SOCIAL/MUSIC/WHATEVER
4:30 PM EST - Dark Improv
Move over, HR theatre kids! We all know that real theatre is dark and disturbing. We’ll be having a Dark Improv Session at the Art Imperium in order to return theatre to its natural state. Get ready to play with alternative history, political spectacle, and more. You don’t have to participate, but it’s possible that you’re already a part of the show.
5 PM EST: N of 1 - Art's Reactionary Aspiration [10 minute talk + 5 minute Q&A]
N of 1 is the founder of the reactionary liberty advancement organization Liberty+. In his debut talk at The Cultural Futurist, he will draw parallels between the life of an artist and the life of an activist in such an organization. He’ll explore the themes of existence for its own sake, the primacy of the non-rational, and the necessity of order as a framework for creativity. Explaining how reaction is counterintuitively future-oriented and how it shares the same attitude of artistic visionaries, he will share his mandate on how the political can best serve the artistic.
5:15 PM EST - Anthony Worman - Experimental Verse: The Bears
The Bears is an experimental short story based on human-bear relationships. It’s about human nature, animal nature, and property. Anthony Worman will be reciting it for us at the Art Imperium.
5:30 PM EST - Alexander Adams - The Radical Vanguard [15 minute speech]
Avantgardism began with a strand of radical right thinking. Artists throughout history have been known to use the elitist quality of vanguardism as its defining characteristic as they opposed socialism and conservatism equally. Only in retrospect have radical aesthetics been claimed by the political left. As a force of nature who has worked to advance free speech, he will be discussing how it’s time to regain our heritage through knowing our origins, discussing everyone from the Futurists to Ezra Pound.
5:45 PM EST - Art Auction/Closing Reception
Get ready for the action and get ready for the auction. To conclude the Art Imperium, we will be auctioning off two unique pieces of art from Fiume’s very own Alexander Adams, an English artist and writer whose work can be found in art galleries and museum collections worldwide. You’ll be able to catch his exhibition at Fiume in NYC later this year, and now you have a chance to get in early and own one of his original works.
