Salons originated in 17th-century France. They were intimate gatherings that fostered an environment of creative collaboration, playing a pivotal role in shaping European intellectual and cultural life. I’ve been carrying on the tradition of salons by producing, curating, and hosting them at The Interintellect for several years.
Now, I’ve decided to begin throwing digital salons at The Cultural Futurist, each one featuring an eclectic mix of renegade philosophers, writers, and performers.
These salons will be held once a month, so gear up for a wild 2024.
While these digital salons will be held monthly, my long-term plan is to throw them in person as the online-to-offline transformation occurs.
The theme of the first Cultural Futurist salon is Total Renaissance.
What is a renaissance? A renaissance is a period known for its explosive creativity and cultural awakening that marks the transformation of a zeitgeist. A renaissance can be a resurrection, revival, and revolution all at once. It begins at the vanguard — where philosophers, writers, performers, and artists with a shared understanding come together to set the foundation for a new era and parallel establishment.
Scheduled for December 22nd of 2023, from 2 PM - 6 PM EST (7 PM - 11 PM GMT), Cultural Futurist Salon I - Total Renaissance will be an end-of-year convergence of friends and contemporaries, both old and new. We’ve positioned this event to make an explosive impact as we kick off the Christmas holiday and set the precedent for 2024.
Our lineup features a blend of talks, readings, and live performances — each bringing a unique experience to the arena. There will be a 5 minute Q&A following each talk and a half-hour break that I’ll be DJing. The event will include avant-garde video shorts and culminate in a final group discussion.
Total Renaissance is taking place online as a way to test a bigger offline event that will occur next year. To gain admission to both my online and offline events, subscribe to my Substack as a paid member. If you can’t afford to join, get in private contact and let me know why it’s important for you to attend. If I like your answer, I’ll throw you a comp.
Please help spread this poster, flyer, and video to the public if you appreciate what I’m doing. You’re also invited share this blog with your like-minded friends.

Looks cool, thanks for sharing! Salons were very important during the Age of Enlightenment, and we need that kind of open public discourse today.
Oh I'm very much interested! Not sure I can make this inaugural meeting, but definitely excited to see how these events unfold
