Fiume hasn’t been the same
The purity was sacrificed
As we divided on the wrong terms
For the goods of the tests of the games
Fiume has sure changed a lot
So you can have this last museum
Burning galleries ahead
Dying micronations
Selective feedback loops
Are you still in the fight
We created a psychic empire
For the thrill of the ride
Yet ever since they shut down shop
Fiume hasn’t been the same
*********************************
So I call to you this last location
See if we can try another shot
Is this resurrection on the menu
Execute more violently in passion
A nation of artists declaring by sword
Our great front is here to celebrate
Did you wish to begin a new rising
Get rid of the other ones swiftly
I see invisible selections
The most objective details inferred
Vanguards rise and fall
As we marginalize in glory
There’s a way to do this right
Yet ever since they stopped the build
Fiume hasn’t been the same
*********************************
A ritual for the secret village
Sacrifice is so postmodern now
When there is meaning in divide
A million governments dictating
Burning brightly and beyond
Crossed over to the banned dimension
The future finally reassigned
It was declared we had done well
Pornographic demigods at the reading
Naked flames bearing it all
Unrestrained and unwavering
The most pristine time to reign
Yet ever since they intervened
Fiume hasn’t been the same
I like the vibe, I like the sound, I like the words and images, and many of the phrases taken by themselves, e.g. “A ritual for the secret village”, work as micropoems on their own.
I’m sure I’m missing most of what you are saying here substantively. That cryptic element I take as a feature not a bug.
Fiume may have private meaning to you, or a public or collective meaning I don’t know about. But it makes me think of Gabriele D’Annunzio. I suspect that episode is one part of a multifaceted symbol.
Have you seen the film, 'The Menu'? ... speaking of sacrifices and menus.
