Gotta love this song as both punk and politics. Jello seemed out there with a lot of his output but it has really held up over the years. “I am the Owl” from his LARD days, for example.
“In ten years or so we’ll leak the truth. But by then, it’s only so much paper.”
I knew we had a lot in common! We've both shared a similar journey from youth to adulthood. It helps to know people like me are still walking this earth. You get it.
I remember the laces thing. I got white knee-high docs and put pink laces on them as some kind of anti-tribalist statement. I was a weirdo ultra-individualist chick. I still think it's funny that people can't tell the difference between nazi, SHARP, and trad. (the skinhead version holy shit I feel old)
Way too many stories to know where to begin. A small press published a memoir of my life during this period, but I'm too modest to promote it at this point since it's so brutal. Most of my real punk friends are dead.
This isn't anything related to the MSM or red v.s. blue. It's just a parody remix of a Dead Kennedys song about scenesters who have never experienced life in a red state who talk a big game. It isn't meant to be a serious piece. Also, technology isn't all dystopian.
There could potentially be a really cool VR simulation at a pop-up event for creative people to meet up and exchange ideas, start companies, etc. The sky is the limit. Never dismiss anything simply for being technology. Rather, look at everything for its individual possibilities and see how far you can go.
Try that in a smol town
Yes. Everyone needs a nice hot dose of reality.
This is why I moved to Brooklyn

i LOVE this! Better than the original!
Someone who remembers then and gets it now!
That’s the true punk rock spirit. Always appreciate your heartfelt honesty and confrontational tone.
I tried staying true to his format. He’s welcome to use it for a new version.

Neither. I always just tell it like it is, without a slant.
Verses must always scan correctly. ;)
Blue state reactionary scenesters especially need to see the other part of America, though. They wouldn’t last there for a day.
